Common water supply and drainage pipeline technologies for non excavation construction
Pipe jacking method
l Advantages:
No need to excavate the surface during construction, which has little impact on road traffic and the surrounding environment, especially suitable for crossing obstacles such as roads, railways, and rivers.
l Application scenarios:
Applicable to scenarios that require large-diameter pipes such as sewage pipes, rainwater pipes, and water supply pipes.
Shield method
Introduction: Shield method is a fully mechanized construction method, which is to push the shield machine into the ground, and support the surrounding rock with the shield shell and segments to prevent collapse into the tunnel. At the same time, the soil is excavated in front of the excavation face with a cutting device, and the soil is transported out of the hole by the excavation machinery, and the jack is used to pressurize the rear part, and the prefabricated concrete segments are assembled to form a mechanized construction method of the tunnel structure.
● Advantages: Suitable for the construction of long-distance, large-diameter tunnels or pipelines, especially when the geological conditions are complex or the ground conditions do not allow large-scale excavation.
● Application scenarios: Used in large-scale underground projects such as subway tunnels, cross-river tunnels, and municipal pipe corridors.
Shallow buried dark excavation method
● Introduction: Shallow buried dark excavation method is a method of constructing tunnels or underground projects close to the surface, which is suitable for urban soft rock environments. It transforms geological conditions and controls surface settlement, uses initial support such as grids and shotcrete, and follows the "New Austrian Tunneling Method" principle and the principle of "pipe advance, strict grouting, short excavation, strong support, fast closure, and frequent measurement" to design and construct tunnels.
● Advantages: It can be carried out in densely built-up areas in cities, with shallow excavation depth, and the construction has little impact on ground transportation and buildings.
● Application scenarios: It is used for the development of small and medium-sized underground pipelines, tunnels or underground spaces in cities, such as power tunnels, drainage tunnels, subway stations, etc.
Directional Drilling Method
Introduction: Directional drilling method uses a drill rig on the ground to perform horizontal directional drilling, thereby drilling a channel underground, and pulling or pushing prefabricated pipes through the channel. It is used to lay pipelines underground. By controlling the direction of the drill bit, the pipeline can be accurately laid. It is especially suitable for long-distance and obstacle-crossing pipeline projects.
● Advantages: It is suitable for long-distance pipeline laying across existing buildings, roads or natural obstacles. It does not require large-scale ground excavation and has strong construction flexibility.
● Application scenarios: It is suitable for laying power cables, communication pipelines, oil pipelines, gas pipelines, etc. over long distances or across obstacles.
